F1lthy がビートを作り始めたのは2012年のフィラデルフィア。FL Studio の使い方を、半年かけて覚えた。作ったビートは、弟のジョーダン、のちのウーギー・メインにも聴かせた。
F1lthy started making beats in Philadelphia in 2012, spending half a year learning FL Studio. He played what he made for his younger brother Jordan, who would later become Oogie Mane.
クラウド・ラップCloud Rap
F1lthy の手本は、フィラデルフィアではなくマイアミにいた。スペースゴーストパープと、ミスター・フェザーズの「Triangle of God」にも声を入れたグループ、メトロ・ズーで、どちらも2010年ごろ「クラウド・ラップ」と呼ばれ始めた側の人たちだ。スペースゴーストパープは2011年の夏にニューヨークへ移り、エイサップ・ロッキーの最初のミックステープにもビートを出している。2013年の終わりに弟のウーギー・メインが最初に目立った仕事をしたのも、スペースゴーストパープの仲間だったザヴィエル・ウルフの曲だった。
F1lthy found his models in Miami: SpaceGhostPurrp and Metro Zu, the group heard on Mr Feathers’ “Triangle of God”, both part of what people started calling cloud rap around 2010. SpaceGhostPurrp moved to New York in the summer of 2011 and supplied a beat for A$AP Rocky’s first mixtape. When Oogie Mane got his first notable credit at the end of 2013, it was on a song by Xavier Wulf, one of SpaceGhostPurrp’s crew.

ウーギー・メインと仲間のフォルツァは、2013年、ノースイースト高校の1年生のときにリル・ウージー・ヴァートと出会う。父を亡くした仲間のルーシーマンが口にした言葉から、集まりはワーキング・オン・ダイイングと名乗った。ウーギー・メインは、まだ12歳だったマット・オックスにもビートを作っている。2020年、F1lthy はプレイボーイ・カーティの『Whole Lotta Red』の中心のプロデューサーになる。大きな音のまま録り、声も音も歪ませたアルバムは、出た当初は賛否が割れ、やがてレイジの手本になった。
Oogie Mane and his friend Forza met Lil Uzi Vert in 2013, as freshmen at Northeast High School. The crew took the name Working on Dying from something a friend said after losing his father. Oogie Mane also made a beat for Matt Ox when Ox was only 12. In 2020 F1lthy became the main producer on Playboi Carti’s “Whole Lotta Red”, an album recorded loud, with voices and sounds distorted, which split opinion when it came out and later became the model for rage.
